Please Don’t Buy Me Crap

This post brought to you by GiftCard.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

I wish I could really tell people that when they're out shopping for me…and it's not like I'm picky, but I swear, some people just have really really bad taste…

Like my older sister when she gave me a Chia Pet one year, and no, it wasn't a gag gift.

Or sometimes, it's not that I get a bad gift, it's just not what I was wanting…like the time I told Eric I really wanted a new pair of black shoes and instead I got three pairs of brown ones. Super cute they were, but three pairs of borwn shoes do not equal what I really wanted…

So please…please…stop buying me crap I don't want….instead, just get me a gift card.

Ah yes, the gift card….the most perfect of all gifts, honestly? How can anyone go wrong with a gift card?

Please, give me a gift card and let me buy the most perfect gift for myself!

Wait, what? You say that you don't like giving gift cards because they're not personal enough? Ha! Not anymore!

The best place to get gift cards is GiftCard.com because they have absolutely every single card you can bever be looking for, so you don't have to traipse all over town getting your mom the SpaFinder card and your dad the Best Buy one…you can do it all in one place, and you can shop in my most favorite way, sitting on your couch!

And as for personalization, GiftCard.com now has the very first design it yoursef Visa card! How cool is that? And they also have designs for any occasion….Christmas, birthdays, whatever you're celebrating…

Team Up With Wal Mart to Help Fight Hunger

This post brought to you by The Walmart Foundation. All opinions are 100% mine.

My family is super lucky…we don’t have to worry about where our next meal is coming from. When my kids get hungry they go get a banana or an apple from the fruit bowl or come ask me for a bowl of Goldfish or a granola bar.

But not everyone is that fortunate, there are 50 million Americans that don’t know where their next meal is coming home, and so Wal Mart is working with Feed America and other well known brands; Kelloggs, General Mills, Kraft, and ConAgra to help bridge that hunger gap that so many Americans experience in the spring due to decreased food donations…

So what can you do? Vote to fight spring hunger with Walmart! Yup, that’s right! Click on the link and you’ll see the areas that need the most help as these are the areas with the highest unemployment rate that’s determined by the Department of Labor Report. I know I’ll be voting for Vero Beach, Florida…gotta help my people in my own state! Voting is open April 9th through the 30th on Facebook….and I know you all are on Facebook, so come one, go vote!

Voting’s not all you can do…go into Walmart between those same days and purchase products from Kellogg’s, ConAgra, Kraft, and General Mills that are specially marked for Feeding America or Action for Healthy Kids and know that you are making a difference!

Walmart’s going to donate $2 million total, with $1 million going to the winner and $50,000 going to each of the 20 runner ups…

So what are you waiting for? Go vote! And then go shop!

A Rocket Made of Snot

I very rarely have time to myself…a minute in the kitchen while kids are brushing teeth, a second when I lock myself in the bathroom, maybe even five whole minutes if I pretend to have diarrhea*…

And I cherish every moment alone I do have…

Because there are certain things I can’t do around my kids…

There are some things I need alone time for…

There are some habits of mine I don’t want the brood to pick up on…

Yes, that’s me…

And yes, I’m blowing a snot rocket…

A rocket made of snot…

That I purposely shoot out of my nose…

I’ve already confessed to you my love of nose picking, but I wasn’t completely honest with you…

Because sometimes picking out that crusty boog and wiping it on Eric isn’t an option…and not just because he gets mad and yells at me to stop and calls me a crazy bitch, but because sometimes when I need to get that booger out he’s not here…

So that’s when I bring my finger up to my nose and shoot out a snot rocket…

Because what’s the point of getting boogs out of your nose if it’s no fun?

Because boogers? Are super fun! Sometimes they’re stretchy and slimy. Sometimes they’re crusty and hard…you never know what you’re going to get…it’s like a surprise every time! And who doesn’t love surprises?!

Like Christmas! Or Mother’s Day!

Every day! Yay!!

Snot rockets rule!

But, uh, not in front of the kids…

Because that would be crazy…

And this bitch? Isn’t crazy…

Right?

Healthier Living For All

This post brought to you by Walmart. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s no secret that I am desperately trying to eat better. Sure, I’ve got the exercise thing down now that I’ve joined a gym, but some days my food choices are so poor that I feel like a hypocrite making my kids eat healthy!

So I’ve been taking strides to toss out my junky food and cook healthy meals that everyone in my house will like…which is why I was super excited to hear that Walmart is doing this whole healthy living initiative! Why? Because Walmart is donating more than $9.5 million dollars in grants to communities all over which will be used partly for nutrition classes and healthy cooking classes, while shopping on a budget. But Holly, isn’t your husband a chef? Is that what you’re saying? Yes, he is, but I always feel so inadequate next to him in the kitchen…and here you can see a video showing how shopping matter!

Another thing I’m really excited for is that the Action For Healthy Kids is getting $1.5 million to get healthier foods into the schools! That is so awesome! My boys love to buy breakfast and lunch but there are days I cringe and beg them to let me pack for them, knowing that the school lunch that day is less than excellent…

]Walmart has tapped the expertise of awards winning journalist and Ph.D. Dr Ro to help families plan healthy meals on a budget…she has appeared on Dr. Oz, The View, and more! You can read more about her here.

Are you trying to be healthier this year? What are you doing to get there?
