You Have To Be Smarter Than The Dishwasher

Because I’m either a glutton for punishment or because I love my children, Eric and I decided to take our children to Disney last week…

And so we were renting a condo type place where we could cook meals and try to save some money…

And so I had to still do some basic chores…such as loading and emptying the dishwasher…

Sounds easy enough, right?

But I couldn’t get the damn thing to lock…

I hip checked it…

That didn’t work…I didn’t hear the click…

So I hip checked it a few more times before I brought out the big guns…

Pushing all my weight against it and swearing…

Right when I was starting into my rant about what a shitty place we were renting and how I was going to demand our money back, Eric came to the rescue…

Apparently it was one of those old school models where there was a lever…

Oops…

I swear I’m smarter than the dishwasher…

it’s the soap dispenser lever that I can never get to click shut. (mostly because I’ve let dried up old soap stay in the cracks). oops. Your stick figure is looking awfully skinny…almost as skinny as you sound over the phone.

You should see if you could figure out our showers. Usually guests will try for about 30 minutes and then they ask me how to do it.

Bwahahahahaha…we just got back from vacation and I had a similar problem with the oven. I preheated the darn thing and slid the biscuits in. After the timer went off, I realized that the biscuits hadn’t cooked at all. Turns out that flipping the little handle on the stove activated the self-cleaning feature (which required pressing another button too) and shut off the oven. Dumb set-up!!! Half an hour later…we finally had biscuits and gravy….with now-cold gravy.

haha! I swear, I can’t work anything properly that isn’t in my own house, and even then it’s hit or miss

I hate when that happens. I’ll be all over trying to fix something, and it’s OBVIOUS how it ought to be fixed, and Scott walks in, does one tiny thing different and boomph, all fixed.

we’re lucky enough to live in FL, so we can do Disney super cheap, they give all sorts of deals to residents…it is a nice perk…

I was convinced my dishwasher was broken so I didn’t use it for months. I just washed my dishes by hand. ManPal comes along and starts the dishwasher and it works. ummmm…I swear it was broken before!

    My pet peeve is the *Harmony* remote that my husband bought, the kind that replaces all the other remotes with just one. Darn thing never works for me properly..I press the button to turn something on and it shuts something off instead. Not creating any harmony in my mind….especially for what stupid thing cost. {And yes I usually get kids to come figure it out, like when I need to turn on Wii or DVD player..two things totally beyond my skill level}
