Yummy Yummy Flipflop Wine

When I received the email from Flipflop Wines asking if I wanted to write a review of their wine on my blog, my first thought was woo-hoo! Free alcohol! But then I was conflicted, I didn’t know if I wanted to do it…because even though I love wine, and I love wine even more when I don’t have to pay for it, what fun is it for you guys to read about how great the alcohol is? Know what I’m saying? If there’s not a giveaway to go with the product, I turn the review away….and besides, this isn’t a giveaway/review blog. Sure, I’ve done giveaways, and I’ll do them in the future, but I prefer to ramble on about my own life to you all…that’s what self centered narcissists do…

But as I was scanning the email, I saw that the company is partnered with Soles4Souls, which means that for every bottle of Flipflop Wine that is sold, a pair of shoes is donated to someone in need. How cool is that? So I was sold, if I can help anyone in need, even if that means drinking wine, you got me!

Flipflop Wines sent me a bottle of Moscato, a bottle of Pinot Grigio, and one of Pinot Noir…and though I could surely drink the bottles alone and be quite happy doing it, I figured I would have a girls night to get some different opinions…

So we got the cheese, the crackers, the cream cheese blob of deliciousness with fruit, and some other nibblies and got to work…

First, the girls all loved that the bottles were screw cap, how easy is that? No more fumbling around with the corkscrew, getting all angry, and then inevitably breaking the damn thing anyway! Woo hoo! The other thing everyone really liked was the scale on the bottle telling you how dry or sweet the wine is, how awesome is that? I daresay, just with that feature, Flipflop Wines just got three new buyers!

The first one we tried was the Pinot Grigio. I’m more of a red wine gal, so I was expecting to not care for it and really need the opinions of my girls, but it was so good! Seriously. I thought it would be super dry and make my eyes scrunch up, but it was so light and crisp! Delicious! We went through that bottle pretty quickly….we’re not ones to mess around…

Next up was the Moscato.
Again, a white wine, and again, I didn’t think I’d like it too much. But Moscato is a sweet wine, and this one too was fabulous. I actually liked the Pinot Grigio more, but the other girls preferred the sweetness of the Moscato. Maybe it’s because we were eating some sort of sinfully delicious dessert by that point…at any rate, that bottle didn’t stand a chance, we downed it…

Last up was the Pinot Noir, which I was super excited for. Come to mama! Pinot Noir is actually my favorite red, so I was kind of hoping that the others wouldn’t care for it so I could hog it, but that didn’t happen, the only one who didn’t care for it was Rachel….and she was surprised since she claims that red is usually her favorite. Too dry, was her complaint…but everyone thought it was yummy, so maybe all the strong blue cheese and baguette she’d been eating messed up her taste buds….

So really, Flipflop Wines are about $7-$8 a bottle, they have an awesome scale on the back to tell you how dry or sweet they are, no cork to mess around with, shoes donated by Soles4Souls…what’s not to like? If you’re a wine drinker, try it, and you’ll like it*. We did, seriously, there was not a drop of wine left…

And if you don’t, then blame the others and their opinions…I’ll give you their email addresses…

*yo gabba gabba-anyone? anyone?

**oh, you can find Flipflop Wines on Facebook too, and Soles4Souls

***I received no monetary compensation for this review, however, Flipflop Wines sent me three bottles of wine in exchange for my fair and honest opinion…

I'm more of a liquor girl myself, but I do like a Moscato. I'll put my Indians (they own the liquor store) on this company.
