My older sister Tanya came over today with her two youngest kids.
She brought with her a bag of honeybell oranges that were given to her by one of her patients (she’s a nurse) and she swore up and down they were the best oranges she’d ever had! So juicy! And you can only get them in January! (yes, I realize now that it’s the end of February…so her timing doesn’t really match up…)
I love fruit! Yeah fruit! And on the Weight Watchers plan I’m kinda sorta doing I can have as much fruit as my little heart desire!
So I take my first bite….
Um, wow…how sour…
But apparently I’m an optimist*, cuz I kept going back…
And guess what…
Honeybells are disgusting**, don’t eat them…they never get better***…
*or a gluttonous pig
**please don’t send me hatemail from the I love honeybell society….I enjoy all other citrus, except for grapefruit which is also revolting…so no hatemail from them either please..
***although if honeybell season is truly January then maybe my sister fed me bad honeybells…that bitch…
I think she gave you some rotten oranges, cause really they are pretty good & I'm not really an orange fan (unless it's juiced & with vodka). But lovin' the sexy face!
That haircut really is super adorable. As for the continuing to give the orange a chance, that's normal. That kind of thing is like a car crash. You want to look away but you can't. Did you ask anyone else to try it too? With the usual phrase, "Ew this is so gross. Here, try it!"

I'm thirding the vodka idea – I'm no fan of oranges in general because they're such a pain to peel. Clementines all the way for me, thanks! But a little OJ and some adult beverage mixed in? I'm there.

When I was having my senior pictures done, the photographer told me to give him a "sexy face" and when I did, he said "WHOA – Why do you look so angry???"
Thinking back, what a perv that guy was! And for the record, I was fully clothed. LOL
Never had them. Now I don't want too. I love oranges but they have to be the sweet juicy ones….the ones you just ate..yeah, it doesn't look like they were so sweet lol. I love grapefruit though.
